Galvanizing in detail award criteria
For the Galvanizing in Detail GAGA Award, the jury will be looking for the interesting and innovative use of galvanized steel in elements that are not necessarily the main part of a structure but form a detail, which supports the overall functionality and aesthetics of the architectural or engineering project.
“Its contrast with the glass and the steel cladding on the side of the staircase, which made it something that really stuck out as quite individual and different from most stairs featured in buildings of a similar nature.”
Jonathan Mawer, Hudson Architects – Galvanizing in Detail Award Winner 2016
This category also includes all artistic entries, renowned for beautiful detailing such as sculptures, balconies and gates. Judging of the awards is based on merit and not the scale of the project.
