Glasgow Airport Pick Up and Drop Off

BHC Ltd were successfully appointed by Morgan Sindall as the Structural Steelwork and Concrete sub-contractor for a new multi-million-pound development at Glasgow International Airport.

The new Pick Up and Drop Off facility opened in the Spring of 2017 and eased congestion within the Airport and provided a better experience to all users.

Car Park in Glasgow

The new parking facility was designed to link directly to an existing multi-storey car park to provide an exit from level 1-5 of the multi-storey car park. The car park deck was designed to connect to the existing concrete frame of the multi-storey carpark however, the structure does not rely or transfer any sources to the existing CP2. The design also allows for the future construction of two additional levels.

The contractor supplied, fabricated and erected approximately 334 tonnes of hot rolled steelwork, consisting of 924 individual pieces of steelwork. The structure features 16.5m clear spans with columns being situated in the centre of the pavements to provide pedestrians with the maximum amount of covered walking space available.

Hot-dip galvanizing was used to provide a high-quality steel finish on all surfaces, giving it a thorough and long-lasting protection to withstand the elements and prevent corrosion.
