The Jarman Building

The concept for the building draws its inspiration from film lots, stages and warehouses, the zinc tiled cladding offers an external finish commensurate with this aesthetic.

To compliment the zinc, galvanized steel staircase towers frame the principal elevation. They are in turn clad in galvanized steel mesh to create solid forms during the day and transparent stairs when lit from within at night. The mesh cladding also acts as support for enormous posters advertising University events and climbing plants that will eventually create two vertical topiary towers.
