Galvanized Beetle

The VW Beetle symbolizes the so-called German economic miracle of the postwar period. To date, it enjoys a wordwide cult status that is not just limited to car enthusiasts. For the artist Georg Seibert, the Beetle is the epitome of hope, liberty and culture. His sculptures – embedding Beetles within a galvanized steel grid – help to symbolise the permanence of them both.
