Michael Ehlers’ Kunstund Media installation ‘The Last Airship’ was a winning entry for a regional art competition in Würzburg, Germany.
The artist was inspired by the history of airships. The 20 m long, 7 m high installation made of hot dip galvanized steel makes reference to technical utopias, which in the artist’s interpretation disintegrate and are recaptured by nature. As a result, the airship will be overgrown by fast-growing climbing plants.
