Galvanizing standards

Galvanising Standards

Hot dip galvanizing is a relatively simple process to specify and is covered by a single standard EN ISO 1461.

Galvanizers Association can provide detailed advice on compiling your specifications, as well as reviewing design details to maximise the benefits of galvanizing your steel.

Quite simple considerations will go a long way to ensure that your steel is processed quickly and efficiently:

  • size and shape of fabrication
  • how the fabrication will be connected
  • any additional coatings that may be required

Listed below are national and international standards for hot dip galvanizing. There are over 100 British standards and codes of practice where hot dip galvanizing is specified as the required or optional finish.

Please refer to the latest version of the standards below when specifying.
