Joining galvanized steel

An unavoidable consequence of the practicalities of working on site and delivery of work to site is that it will involve the requirement for connecting different features of steelwork.

Galvanized articles can be joined by bolting (including friction grip connections), welding, riveting and adhesive bonding. Bolted joints are best made after galvanizing. Welded sections need to be renovated as the process will cause localised damage to the coating.
