The winner of the 2017 Sustainable Award was Crossrail West Gantries, that includes a 5-track gantry signal structure, a large 2-track cantilever structure and several smaller galvanized steel lightweight gantry and cantilever structures.
The judges considered the overall project’s sustainability concept and the role that galvanized steel played in the delivery of it.
Global Rail Construction used the sustainable award winning project to demonstrate significant cost and programme efficiencies with the inclusion of new strategies for end of life scenarios.
